What is this?

A demonstration of the region-aware and cluster aggregation capabilities of the RegionBound plugin, brought to you through the Drupal CMS (D7).

Can I make this myself?

Absolutely! And without any code of any kind. This is NOT a doctored demo. Check out the complete configuration to reproduce this map. All you need are a handful of free Drupal modules centred around Views, Leaflet and IPGV&M. The latter provides all of the map widgets you see on this page. Then for the region-awareness and aggregation capabilities, add the RegionBound plugin.

How do I drive this thing?

Easy. Start by selecting a region from the drop-down. The section you are reading now will disappear, displaying instead a table of the 10 cafes closest to the location you picked, which will be represented by a black marker.
When the page has refreshed, hover the i symbols to find out what it all means.
Feel free to try the map's geolocation capabilities by pressing the Find me button. However, unless you're in Melbourne, the result may come as a surprise...
